Our Philosophy
A successful program is not built from the top down. One or two medalists may be developed but the rest of the program will be weak and unsuccessful. You must start at the bottom – its foundation. Once the foundation is sound, strong athletes with good fundamentals, add the latest scientific training methods, use all available facilities and resources, put together a training schedule that has structure, commitment, and accountability by both the players, and the coaches, include a financial incentive and reward program, and the result will be a successful program... Objectives:

  1. Administer the coach education program for certification
  2. Publish monthly article in USJA Development Newsletter
  3. Create website and CD-ROM of templates for syllabi, lesson plans, flyers for recruitment and other club development and instructional documents
  4. Sponsor regional coaching conferences
  5. Create course instruction materials for new club development
  6. Revise and expand existing coach education program with additional workshops and educational materials

Sample articles on coaching can be found on this page with the archive of the Grass Roots Coaching newsletters. We are working very hard behind the scenes on more materials to serve you better. We will be piloting additional coach education clinics for continuing education in spring and summer of 2006. Something to anticipate. Stay tuned.
